1 medium bottle gourd
For the seasoning:
1 Tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp urad dal
A pinch of asafoetida
4-5 curry leaves
2-3 green chillies, chopped finely
1 1/2 cups yogurt
Peel, wash, cube & cook the bottle gourd pieces in a little water along with some salt, turmeric powder & a few curry leaves for about 5-7 minutes.
In a pan, heat the oil & add the ingredients for the seasoning.
Add the cooked bottlegourd to this, stir well & cook for 3 minutes or so on medium heat.
In a bowl add the yogurt & whisk well to get a smooth consistency. Add to the cooked bottlegourd mixture & cook on very low heat stirring constantly for 2- 3minutes .
Serve hot along with rice, some pickle & pappad.
